– Following an explosive start to the season, the Miners head out on the road to face off against Texas State in the first conference game of the season. Puck drops Friday at 8:40 p.m. CT at The Pond Hockey Club

Miners vs Bobcats
This will be the first meeting between the Miners and the Bobcats. In the last four seasons, the Miners hold a 8-3 record (4-2 on the road, 4-1 at home) against the Bobcats. Last season, the Miners lost to the Bobcats 4-2 during opening weekend but won the remaining three games of season against Texas State. At home, the Miners shut out the Bobcats 14-0 in game one and 12-0 in game two.
Scouting the Bobcats
The Bobcats are currently 0-3 on the season. Texas State played Texas Christian University last weekend and lost game one 5-4 and game two 5-3. Matthew Padgett returns in net for the Bobcats. Padgett has logged 180 minutes for the Bobcats, he has allowed 17 goals this season, 5.67 per game and has a save percentage of .858. Forward Connor Roche returns for Texas State, last season he 40 points (27 G, 13 A). Along with Roche, Matthew Hill is back in the line up. Hill had 16 points (4G, 12A) last season.
