Join us in welcoming the newest addition to the Miners Hockey Club roster, incoming freshman Storm Evans from Orangeville, Ontario, Canada.
Coach Herman on the addition of Storm, “Adding quality defenseman was a major focus for the club. We are hoping Storm can help solidify the D-core and add some offensive threat as well. I’m very excited to see him play in front of our fans. Although he is coming in as a freshman, he will be looked at to log a lot of minutes on the ice.”

Why did you choose UTEP?
After looking into the hockey side of UTEP I saw the passion and commitment that the fans bring to every game and the atmosphere is unbelievable compared to most other ACHA teams.
What are you looking forward to most about coming to UTEP?
I look forward to being able to go to the rink in shorts and a t-shirt. Coming from Canada it's not very often you can do that so it will for sure be a nice change.
What has been your favorite moment of your hockey career so far?
Either playing my first junior game at 17 years old or being named captain in my last season. Both of these accomplishments will something I will remember for the rest of my life and I hope to make some really good memories in the years to come as well.
When did you start playing the game of hockey?
I started playing hockey at the age of 4 while I learned to skate at the age of 3.
Which NHL player(s) do you model your game after?
Probably Marc-Edouard Vlasic of the San Jose Sharks. He plays a defensive defenseman role but can still help the team by putting up some points.
What is your favorite activity outside of hockey?
I enjoy golfing a lot. I try and play about 3 times a week in the summer when I'm not playing hockey.
